a Tall Ships Series visiting 5 events in 4 European countries
The largest event organised by Sail Training International is The Tall Ships Races, an annual summer series held in European waters, where ports along the route will host festivals that can be expected to bring between 200,000 and 1 million visitors over 3 to 4 days. Sports, social, and cultural activities will be planned for the thousands of crew members, whilst the highlight of any festival is the crew parade which sees participants from all over the world come together to take over the streets.
The Tall Ships Races 2017 will see an international fleet of tall ships take over the Baltic Sea, starting in Halmstad, Sweden before racing north to Finland for festivals in Kotka and Turku. From there they’ll return south to Klaipeda in Lithuania before racing to the finale in Szczecin, Poland.
