I was told by locals, the very best would be to cross the Biscay from Ile d'Yeu. So we went back from La Rochelle to the Island. Saturday, May 14th., I start...

finally it was time to cross the Biscay
all the people I met in la rochelle told
me that it would be best to do that from
l.joe so I save back to Elizabeth alone
and then to the illu I was accompanied
by another sailor Lars from Norway he
came up from Spain and was on his way to
England and Island we sailed together
and we also had some fun together like
in this salad alone well we were invited
to a karaoke a nil you it was time to
say goodbye as Lara sailed up northwards
and I prepared myself to cross whiskey
but before that I installed a AIS
transmitter receiver to be seen by other
ships a last investment in safety but
then the day came Saturday May 14th well
we're on our way we put up the spinnaker
and going quite nicely between 4.4 knots
and 5.5 the weight is fine still some
waste but the course in war west then
Southwest so we are running
we're running out into the bay that
should be alright
and then we go south after a while I had
to take down the spinnaker but it was
still very nice sailing and the AIS did
its job
so
now the wind is down to voter but see
Stan as well at least morning it's now
10 past 5:00 wind is blowing from North
North West so I had to alter my course a
little bit too it's the South but it's
still ok we can say that's the very best
and I wake up every half an hour do you
have a look around for the last three
hours there was nothing around before
there was a car ownership and fishing
vessel but now we're on our own
so I have another half an hour
it's now Sunday 12 o'clock we have
another around 150 miles to go up to now
the wind is quite steady yeah 10 knots
and we are hmm
making 5.5 knots over the ground so it's
a nice sitting right now I hope it stays
I hope it stays like this 7 o'clock
Sunday evening engine is running since 3
o'clock because there is no engine no
think for the rest of the journey we
have to use some view but at least blue
area and all who had company
and actually I've never seen so many
dolphins like on this journey
so it's time to do morning
writers around
and a lot of dolphins play
there's absolutely no
Emil's 7:00 in the morning filled that
policy playing golf it's round and some
shifts I have my ass but
in sight so
well the ethnonyms he was quite okay I
managed much better to sleep in a
30-minute with me
well maybe it's true what they say that
after three days you can used to it well
who knows I just sent Catherine a
message with the EU
and reply now there are a couple of
fishing methods out there during the
night there was not much traffic but the
my dolphins all the night playing around
the boats this was amazing amazing well
I'm heading to Rivera it will take me
another six hours to get there but yeah
it's great it's great we almost made it
one day early afternoon we arrived at
the coast of Spain to be honest it looks
a little bit like Switzerland just with
the sea I called the marina of Rivera on
the VHF and asked for birth no problem
was the answer and I was warmly welcomed
by the harbor master himself and now the
next step will be Laconia
