set this is a Perkins 4108 believe it's

a 12 and a half kilowatt genset kid run

an engine in good shape generally

speaking it's got minor maintenance

issues here and there gotta do some new

hoses and an assorted other things we

cool the generator with a an electric

wall raw water pump driven by the genset

itself it's 110 volt or 120 volt AC

water pump and that's what we used to

supply this engine with raw water I'm

replacing that pump right now because

the existing pump is not self priming

and even though its orifices below the

water line over here right here this

thing will lose prime went under sail

even when the generator is running and

suddenly you lose raw water cooling to

the genset it's not a good thing so

putting in a different kind of pump in a

different location closer to the through

holland strainer spin again set which is

right here I've also got some other

routing work to deal with from previous

people before me I've been doing a whole

lot of cleanup on the boat over the last

several months

have to show you electrical the back of

the electrical panel sometime anyway I'm

going to get some work done now I'll

show you someone a little bit there it

is the big bastard of a pump pulled out

that's the monster that was handling our

raw water for 408 genset that is a big

gaping spot where it used to be so
