hi We're Bobby and Teresa and this is

our page sails and tails on Valentine's

Day 2015

bobby popped the big question i never

thought of living on a boat before but

when I did my mind escaped all the

beautiful beaches that we could have

access to there just happened to be a

boat show in town so we went down to

Houston to check it out while walking

around we talked to a broker from little

yacht sales who told us about the open

house that they were having at their

marina so we went over there this open

house was actually really cool all of

their boats were open and we could go

aboard any of them this also gave us a

more realistic outlook on what kind of

boat that we could get okay we looked at

boats but first we need to learn how to

sail a quick search led me to the

American sailing Association they have

over 300 sailing schools in the US alone

and lucky for us there was one in Austin

at Lake Travis and unlucky for us Texas

was suffering one of the worst droughts

in its history during that time Lake

Travis dropped to one-third of its

normal level although the sailing school

was still open this looked pretty

depressing and definitely not how we

pictured the start of our sailing

adventure

so we brought in our search and found

something in Houston but first we had

some eloping to do

the next morning we packed our bags and

headed down to the coast

and stopping along the way to take in

some text and scenery I also stopped in

shiner Texas to check out their brewery

because as they say in Texas

nothing's finer than a shiner

then we finally made it to the coast

this was war Elijah

it was really hot that days we were

pretty happy when it started raining

then just like that the day was over

afterwards when we went back to the

marina and took a short test and then we

were a si 101 certified

oh no II meant to our classrooms are

kinda I'm gonna learn how to dr. boat

first time seven by ourselves no

instructor it's the day after Labor Day

and there's only like one other self up

and debate this is the boat that we

chartered for the day is a free charter

we got it armed with our lessons as you

can see the Bimini above Bobby has seen

better days I had to tie this one

because it was making such loud banging

noise of us getting on our nerves this

is the beaver very tiny I'm not gonna

open the head it here's the salon

and the galley and this is our little

checklist like when you rent a card to

go over and check everything off I've

had a pretty good day almost over those

others back to the channel

then we went back to the hotel and grab

the dogs

let's make to go for a run on the beach
