previously on trio hey guys

last time on trio we began our trip

north stopping at gorgeous sandy island

along the way

the next morning we caught half of a

really big tuna because a hungry shark

wanted breakfast before us and we had a

fairly windless sale

all the way to Martinique while at

Martinique we had a few boat projects to

tackle then it was time to haul sail on

point South Ferry 3 North again in this

episode we arrived in st. Maarten and

our luck finally runs out when later

while leaving the anchorage in the dark

of an early morning departure we lose an

engine due to a fish trap and its rope

wrapped tightly around our port prop

plus they've won under a bell damn I'm

coming up they've got about 200 miles to

go dr. Kovac waddly so around 1:00 in

the morning I was off watch does his

sleeping in the ass cavity this was on

watch and we had full sail up with one

refill on a polka we had one reason the

radio we lost all the win to drop down

to about three knots even one night

through nine and though it's just

flopping around and it's kind of

stressed on the on the rigging so I got

up and we dropped the main now it's

about 5:30 in the morning and Christmas

time please

I just left the name down we have the

engine running so we'll see there open

the word half an hour and roll so that

means go back up cause we got a lot of

tend not to win now that keeps blowing

it and I set them up everything's pretty

wet especially on this side to open up

the hatch let the fresh air and flatten

out got up here but there's a flying

fish up here it's a pretty big one

I'm going to leave it up here for Cole

to find he slept in the cockpit all

night

get comfortable didn't wanna leave

just the beam Guadalupe now there's

Dominica up here that st. Kitts and

Evans down here

Martinique all the way up here the

British Virgin Islands

and that way the Puerto Rico MDR and

cue-ball couple hours later and there's

just no wind four and a half five not so

again running one engine in both sails

maintaining five to six

I'm going to take it back down so 3:30

on day two of our 56 our frothing to VBI

story of the day is no when we are so

far hundred you can't see anything and

that's over again nothing interesting to

report well we're here in Martinique we

pulled off our fifty fifty fifty six

hours to British Virgin Islands but we

change our plan mid roof and here we are

Martinique there's a nasty black cloud

come on our way we're going to get

soaking wet any minute now but the

boat's covered in salt so it's perfect

you should really grab a scrub brush and

scrub the few things down there yeah I

should do that right go can't drink beer

right all right hit no not happening

laundry

ah dad Mia rainy season or any season

makes everything so messy

that's too much laundry if you get ready

to come cruising don't bring as many

clothes because just going to wash them

all

so the squalls were like Rand ami and I

bring everything in and then I put it

all back out and arrayed against them

straight in anyway it's been a bit of a

gong show today so Brad's rigged up

these extra lines for me inside the

cockpit and we have these new rain

shades which if it can pick those two

its laundry but they keep things dry

when it rains so anyway I'm on the last

load you have to how long it takes to be

laundry right well actually this is to

load this hey that's a really good thing

you have a washing machine on board no

lug all this to shore would be crazy it

would be like half a fortunes if this I

think that panda washes paper itself

like ten times over today

I know it's exciting this laundry yeah

still at it

our port engine just

installed on us because we wrap the fish

pod or a fishnet or something I can see

it underwater too around our prop you're

caught ourselves a fish trap a big nasty

heavy one we've been dragging it behind

the boat for about half an hour now so

Brad is playing himself off here and see

if he can I don't know cut whatever's

dragging or they'll be dragging an

anchor or another boat so now we're in

neutral sales are down Brad's on the

sugar scoops and the swells are big

they're fooling the sugar scoops and

he's trying to grab the rope that's

dragging behind with the reaching Pole

see if we can cut it loose and at least

gain some speed until more daylight

arrives and we can dive down to untangle

the prop morning quick update from the

cockpit of salt air 3 it's about 8:30 in

the morning the profit still tangled up

with rope

please out so he gets to the Anchorage

full shut the helm and Kristin are going

to lie down and have a nap our friends

I'm still pending oh right there Oh Jim

flopping around like ours is we're doing

6 knots averaging down the wing on wing

now because the wind is shifted so we

got the main out support and the jib out

to starboard

and we're doing six not

so that's what wing on wing on a

catamaran looks like

and our friends and sale pending I think

they're weighing on wing now too you can

see Tyler up on deck

I remember that captain retching strike

captain a client helm captain rich

and then dolphins come to visit it never

gets a little

tick - yeah we made it before sunset or

through the narrow cut back there and

the shallow reefs that got the six feet

three inches at one point we're going to

get here by sunset so we can see what

we're doing and now we're in the bbi's

so once we were through the shallow

entrance on the north side of Virgin

Gorda and the egg goes down tendency

what Cole and I could do about the Rope

that's tightly wrapped around the fort
