hi there so I have sanded the mainsail

travelers main channel iron beam and mr.

Spock here

and the metal was quite potted so what

I'm gonna do is I prepped it cleaned it

and now primed it with a zinc chromate

primer and then I'm gonna fill in some

of the pots so the finish looks really

nice that's about it so we'll let this

dry and we'll move on to the next part

of that which is gonna be dealing with

some of the wooden components okay so

this is being stained with I've chosen

gun stock throughout the boat and I

think it's fantastic I love the color

it's so rich so the pulleys will mount

on this and the contrast in colors it's

gonna look beautiful so the this has

just got to be dried up a bit

and then we're going to take some

fiberglass resin and we're going to

paint it up let it soak in to give it

that extra bit of hardness and after

that we're gonna hit it with some spar

varnish

well that's that that's the mainsail

traveller framed I've got it all painted

up this is a very durable finish it's

also got a little bit of flex to it by

rust-oleum take a few hours for this a

set up and the next thing we're going to

do with this is we're gonna assemble the

traveler and get it ready for your

mounting on the sailboat

right we're fitting the traveler here

we've refinished it and what we've

decided is we're gonna mount the

traveler on these aesthetically pleasing

blocks just not for any specific reason

except for the fact that it looks good

essentially there is gonna raise it up

about a half an inch and that's it

so next step line it up sort of and we

will mark the holes and drill them

both going in with a feet

we've installed traveler just using

temporary screws

pretty solid I like it on the wood a

heck of a lot more than before it'll be

easier to seal and that's what we really

want we don't want leaks so a little bit

higher darn strong I'm proud of this job
