I'm taking off to Louisiana running home
but don't you think an apartment it's
not a house actually it's a sailboat
it looks like get from my friends and
family I tell them my plans well they're
exactly what you would think they would
be good I owe it all to the wind I'm
forty-five my kids are grown
I'm a year and a half removed from
battling cancer and I'm single again
absolutely nothing to lose my dad bought
a sailboat years ago but dreams are
selling to the Caribbean and beyond but
it didn't work out for him in fact he
never really made it out of the Gulf of
Mexico when he told me he was planning
on selling the boat I couldn't let him
do it it's not my boat I'm sinking all
my hard-earned money into it that boat
will hit the water again and hit the
water soon but this time she's gonna do
what she was intended to do I have big
dreams of living on the hook seeing new
destinations just getting out of here
for a while and that's exactly what I
plan on doing there are a lot of great
YouTube channels of people selling
around going from place to place living
on their cell book and now well there's
one more my name is Leon and this is my
journey
welcome to hushpuppy my 1974 Cal 330 my
new home
so it looks like we're going to get the
engine fired up today I got to replace
the oil pump a few filters and see what
happens so wish me luck we'll be working
on it with my dad very psyched about
that he's been helping me out a lot
let's try this
[Music]
okay so first little snafu is there's my
fuel pump that boat came out really
terribly easy the problem is the boat on
this side
because the to get to because you
can't get a wrench on it and there's not
much clearance to get a screwdriver so
I'm have to find a stubby screwdriver so
you want to see it kick in the ass here
I got this
stubby which I thought was gonna work
perfect and look it's too short that
shaft is too short man so a regular
screwdriver is too long and the stubby
is too short time to go to plan B C or D
or whatever it is now so this is the
ratchet that saved the day awesome
tada one fuel pump out and this is my
new fuel pump I'm just comparing the two
right now
it looks pretty much like the same part
to me this is good okay
so what I'm doing now guys is I'm taking
the little gas nozzles off this pump the
old pump both sides and putting him on
my new pump then be able to reset this
thing and hopefully have good fuel
pressure we'll see
oh shut up you
[Music]
so yeah after a ridiculous amount of
time trying to figure out what was wrong
it was just air in the lines we've got
them all cleaned up we're great and now
under new projects

gotta get back to Houston that's my job
obligation this to get to and order
these parts for the boat man time just
flies look at how much puppy but she'll
be in the water quick enough heading
towards anywhere but here
then I can't wait I still have plenty to
learn in this new lifestyle so please
leave a comment or private message me I
love to hear from you thanks for
watching everybody tune in next time
when I get one step closer to my dream
