Installing a window I had been procrastinating on replacing.

I gave them my chicken bones now they're
shooting lasers at me we're getting
warmed up to me though we'll see if I
[Music]
don't cut these out after several weeks
all right got ólafur cut out I'm going
to swap to the drill real quick and
drill the holes and then I'll cut out
this center part of it all right got the
first one done out of the four next step
on it is to clean it up a little bit and
then I need to actually glue the layers
together and then probably continue to
clean it up a little bit just to remind
everyone this is what I'm trying to
replace here these fields that go around
the windows I'm gonna as I replace the
windows they need to have that on there
to get a good weather seal and I have to
do that to pretty much every window on
board so got my work cut out for me as
you can imagine the downside to all this
work is the not last check out now
produce so I'm gonna have to pull out
the vacuum and clean that up
there's no no wind today which is good
because it's sunny and I need to put
that window and finally after however
long it's been since I took it out so
that is what we will do put up some
plastic on the inside to help contain
the dust as I cut that out and you know
this is my bedroom so I'd rather not get
into sawdusty all right I've got the
panel cut out there but I need to clean
up the hole before I can fit a window in
there but that piece of plastic worked
great for containing all the dust
keeping it from filling up my bedroom so
this is why I was waiting for the good
weather because now I've got a gaping
hole in my bedroom and I don't want to
get water in here I've got that this
waterproofing stuff that I'm going to
put on on this wooden edge that is
exposed to help protect it from any
potential rot in the future yeah
[Music]
gripping solution has dried and I am now
ready to
put the window back a little bit of a
tight fit but I think it'll work so I'm
gonna put some silicone around the edge
and force it through and hopefully that
will work window is on and siliconed I'm
going to put the screws back in their
holes
next step is to seal the outside all
right well I've got this goopy stuff on
yeah that'll now go on the window there
is the window all sealed up ready for
rain I will probably later tomorrow the
silicone has set overnight so I got
these paper towels underneath the window
and I'm gonna hit it with an artificial
rainstorm to see if we got any leaking
going on hopefully not though I sealed
it up pretty well
gotta keep shooting it like this for a
few minutes get the water a chance to go
wherever it's gonna go
then we'll take a look at the inside
[Music]
so I got a little bit of water dripping
in right here coming through the seal on
the window which is not a bad place the
good news is there is no water coming in
through the backside which is so got
that going for me which is nice gonna
let it dry before I open the window and
then let the rest of that water in not
bad not bad all pretty pleased with the
results of that test
all right next on my list now that I've
got the bedroom panel knocked out is to
work on this one this entire one because
it is leaking a lot of water when it
rains so what I'm gonna do is probably
go ahead and start measuring out the
shape of that panel and then cut it and
color it that way I don't have to leave
these windows out for very long I can
just do it all and hopefully it won't be
like the bedroom where I had it
uncovered for about six months before I
actually finished it so yeah I might if
that goes quickly I'll move on to the
panel on the starboard side and I might
redo the one up here that I had already
done and get the color right because
right now the color doesn't actually
match
[Music]
then I also need to do the bathroom
panels because those let in quite a bit
of water and then that should be it
as far as wood replacement goes only to
barely check a lot of a teak fixtures
and make sure that there's no hidden
molding issues going on but once that is
done I should be in pretty Bristol shape
