Finally got around to editing some older videos! Boat is getting closer and closer to being ready for the open ocean but it seems like it never ends! Camera ...

got you happy don't hold out fast worked
on

probably

so what I'm doing is I'm gonna have to
go through all the wood including Vito
real right there this creepy old varnish
off that I'll expose the fresh wood
underneath and I'll have to sand it and
make it nice and smooth and apply for
coach of the varnish again maybe more
you'll see but that is the current
project outside that is I have to do
that every year so underneath my
sleeping berths and putting these rubber
mats they're usually used for showers
and stuff like that but I'm gonna use
them to try to get the actual mattresses
off of the deck here and that'll help in
the wintertime especially when it gets
humid and the VOC searches a sweat it'll
prevent the mattress from soaking up all
that moisture and allow it to kind of
breathe a little bit better so we'll
have to wait until next winter to see if
it works

very often
this summer all the sales are taken off
the bimini is down and while I'm back
I'm going to try to get some projects
done I've gotta work on some stuff on
the boom and then maybe get some board
working down if the weather clears up
we'll see so one of the things I found
when I was taking the mainsail off is
that this shackle is pretty much fused
to the gooseneck here so I'm gonna have
to figure out how to undo that it moves
but the the actual pin there it feels
like it is fused to the aluminum so yeah

so one thing I could do is cut it here
and that would kind of free up this
threaded bit shackle and then I would be
able to kind of hammer it all the way
out
but see if I can just get it worked to
loose one of the problems with this is
that there's no good way to grip that
and it's actually twisted from my
previous attempts if the shears off
that's not that thing I can just just
drill through it the rest of the way
I'll be right back okay so the blades
that I have on these are explicitly made
for metal cutting I'm going to try to
cut off the rest of the shackle here and
then I will attack the pin however I can
[Applause]
[Applause]
all right so what I've essentially done
at this point is going to create a
couple of stress points that way by
bending it flexing it back and forth I'm
hoping that'll just fall apart and
that's why I was going for I'd basically
want to be able to pull that off now
today so now I have to figure out how to
get that out
all right I got the pin out of the
shackle hole when I pulled it out it was
covered in oxidation we've got a cleaned
up now so I can go buy an adequate
replacement but the important lesson
about all of this is that if there is
something that you might have to take
apart while underway go ahead and take
it apart once or twice while you're a
paddock because if I was an emergency
and had to pull down my mainsail been
able to paint this primer so I'm going
to does good job that'll be finished
soon so another thing I bought while I
was at the story today was this little
sliver of teak which is going to fill in
that gap right there honestly it is
annoying to step on and there's a sharp
little nail right there
I don't have to do that right now but
you know what I'm gonna do it while I
got time so I'm going to cut cut that
piece out get it varnished and ready to
go in and once it looks good it will get
nailed in there all right here's the new
piece fits in quite nicely
okay so to update you guys on my new
project list still have to do
refrigeration I still have to do the
plumbing the bathrooms and sink then I
have to finish varnishing finished
replacing the wood panels
finish replacing the port lights
