today's plan is to head down south a bit

we're going to go explore some water

that i haven't been to in a while and

then

we'll come back up here to the north

part of the bay uh where i normally

spend the night on the hook and we'll

camp out on the hook

it is a holiday weekend so i have a lot

more time than i normally would

for this kind of thing i've uh got a

pack dinner with me

and nothing else to do

well i'm on my way back down i rolled up

the jib

because downwind sailing with jib on

this particular boat isn't very

efficient

i've got the anchor chain already kind

of laid out on the front of the deck

here

so as soon as we get back over around

there we'll go ahead and drop the anchor

and get set for the night

i've been keeping an eye on that giant

storm i thought it might be headed

towards us but it looks like it's

actually broken up and uh is no longer

going to be a threat to us tonight

so that looks good and we should be

down there right around sunset so we're

almost back at home

safe and sound at home that is the wind

has really died down a lot

i might actually take the opportunity to

try anchoring on the sail

which is something i've never attempted

before but it should be pretty easy

the strategy is i'm going to shoot up

into the wind

drop the anchor and let the boat kind of

just drag backwards until it sets

so yeah let's give it a shot i'm not

going to film my

self-attempting this because i don't

want to embarrass myself in front of the

heel

the whole internet so we'll uh we'll do

this one offline and i'll

check back in a bit so once again we are

on the anchor

and i had no problems doing it

via the wind only uh uh

i have some video editing i'd like to do

tonight and then i'll probably just

head to bed after that not much else
