stay tuned we're going to war last time
on sailing on a whim just after being on
the boat for a few days we had an
uninvited guest and had to take a few
days to deal with it
coming up you get to see what lights and
the marinas like as we start some of our
boat projects and bener name
[Music]
[Music]
all right Super Bowl Sunday and we went
up to the local watering hole our dock
mates saw we were certainly fortunate to
end up on the dock we did there were
people there from all over the world and
they welcomed us with open arms and
shared their lives and their knowledge
of boating with us they also invited us
to come watch the Super Bowl up at the
local bar really one of the highlights
of this lifestyle and living on a boat
was all the people you meet and we
certainly made friends for life
[Music]
another Super Bowl for the Patriots
congratulations pates so now that our
bug problem was affixed it was time to
start working on boat project so the old
owner James stopped by to drop off our
dinghy so we can start working on that
get that up to speed and also just to go
through the boat and show us other
projects that needed to be done all
right so any any you know soapy shower
water is gonna go in here right and then
you connect another line to a a little
pump right and then it pumps that shower
over right do you want to go and you
want to know where every plant is in
this book and get one eyeball and should
do it everyone doing that you're gonna
learn the system and that's that's some
of these SC advantage of working on
threading right he's like you don't want
a piece I'm gonna do it you want to do
it so you know how to fix it you know
how it works
yeah right yeah having James come out
and show us the systems on the boat and
just keep running us through things that
might need to be fixed and maintenance
that might need to happen or it would
need to happen was super valuable if he
had done that we would have been totally
lost and we might have even got
ourselves into some bad situations of
something broken we hadn't anticipated
it keep it one of the cool things he did
was he actually created an entire list
of all of the projects that needed to be
completed on the boat and maintenance
that needed to be completed so we went
over that in detail that day and went
through every detail of every project
that needed to be done and that really
helped us out
so it's gonna be follow the beer time
[Music]
right now we're following the beers and
there's Mike our neighbor and it was
Pete Pete hi doing page Cheers here you
hit here take it serious
well that's why I got
[Music]
very happy
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
[Music]
nope so we probably had a little too
much fun with the neighbors last night
because it's like 9:30 and we haven't
done anything yet so this is kind of the
aftermath of what's what's happening
here this ever matter what's happening
right now hangover watching YouTube one
of my favorite channels The Adventures
of Tarka the guy's awesome how you
feeling there I feel I could feel worse
and I could feel better you feeling well
after a night of happy hours this turned
into one of the most productive days
we've had yet
which means productive and getting more
sleep she'll go from a nice nap start
working on something here soon it's
dingy repair time
[Music]
it's so ugly and so dirty we decided to
painted plus what's gonna make sure that
the doesn't have any holes in it so we
got some patches paper and kind of sand
it down a little bit that's okay with
height block and then we ate it with
acetone it kind of cleans it all up it
gets it ready for painting and then we
have dingy paint
[Music]
the standing ringing on our boat was
over 12 years old so it was something
that definitely needed to be replaced so
the next day the riggers came to take
down all the standing rigging and bring
it back to habit replace it's always
interesting to watch how these guys work
and then they go every day up and down
these masts working on rigging and I
thought it was really interesting to
watch
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
okay so we're heading over to check out
this golf star it's a gold star 52
because it's just the bear the bear wire
lifelines
and so I think we may depending on the
price we may have ringers
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
[Music]
that weekend it just happened to be
Lobsterfest so bunch of us from arena
decided to head down and check it out
[Music]
laughs came so easily tonight
to keep you tight
cuz everything you did
[Music]
I swear
[Music]
right
[Music]
but you solution
just get it
get it right
[Music]
also seem like a fun place to take the
drone out so got it out we took it for a
spin
[Music]
and sir
tonight
I'm aware
right
[Music]
laughs screams ooh be silly
right
[Music]
what you doing there Danny so
we try to fix the leak and it's either
just too big of a leak with a little
patch to hold up keep up with
so I took the
Patrick put on their crap okay get rid
of some more of this
sure create a seal around it better I
think this just gets in there there's
our paint job looks pretty decent from
the front or the top I should say bottom
not so much but you know I do what you
can do everyone on the dock thinks it
looks good and so Mike just our neighbor
just was awesome enough to sell us his
two-stroke 10 horsepower Yamaha for
50 to 1 take the top off I think we
should be okay because the Yamaha our
combination is a hundred to one and but
the dealer recommended he do 50 to one
so if we're in between that okay you
can't tell this is the first time either
of us had ever been in a dingy or used
an outboard we totally felt like just
green Sally's simple things details
important important details
what do you pumping it to yep there's an
error I'm pretty sure we provided hours
of entertainment to our marina as they
watch this fumble through everything we
did for the first month arrow goes to
the motor right yeah I can feel it now
somewhere
Oh
we'll see you soon
missed
as everyone was standing idly by trying
not to uh turn to me
as tears were streaming down
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
- let it
[Applause]
[Music]
of Sara
so lightly that
[Music]
let's move to Florida and sailboat won't
that just be fun
yeah we've not done any sailing so next
time on sailing on a whim I keep
knocking off boat projects and Christa
has her first birthday on the boat so we
celebrate by taking off on our new
dinghy to a little adventure in the
Everglades catch a beautiful sight on a
pod of dolphins swimming right next door
this is amazing
stay tuned for the next episode
