Wow, Cappadocia was sensational, it exceeded all our expectations! We were excited to get back to Turkey and last week we enjoyed lively Istanbul and catching up with friends. This week was something completely different - World Heritage listed Göreme area.

We join hundreds of other hot air balloons to view the spectacular landscape from above and fill the sky with colour. Words can't describe the feeling!

Making the most of our 3 days we take a walk through the surreal landscape, finding our own path through Rose Valley and Red Valley.
Passing unique pinnacles and colourful mountains, stopping to explore dwellings carved into the rock along the way.

Then finally we are back to Kos and our boat Kawai YAY! We're super excited to get going on our next sailing adventure through the Cyclades Islands, Greece!

About us:
Our names are Jason and Tracey and we traded our house, cars, business, job and security for freedom, adventure, travel and living simply amongst nature and the seas on our 45 foot sailing boat, Kawai.

We don't know exactly where the winds will take us at this stage but over the next year we hope to visit Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Morocco, Gibraltar, Canary Islands and then across the Atlantic Ocean.

what's your opinion it's nice to get out

into nature again and we did walking

this morning exploring

jace came across some chickens

we did plan to go further but their

cheap beers

$3 beers and an amazing view so I'll

quickly show you the view so it's pretty

damn amazing got the snow snow in the

mountains in behind so it's pretty

special and we've also got some pretty

cool chickens just hanging with us

come to the top of Cappadocia and trace

has happened to find more shops what are

the chances

the scenery in Cappadocia was

spectacular we were very excited to take

to the skies and check it out from a

hot-air balloon the next day we worked

early to be fed breakfast before dawn

and I particularly enjoyed the bus trip

watching all the huge balloons get

prepared in the dark whilst listening to

Turkish music everyone was super excited

and even more so when our balloon came

into view

can I go in the reason for this unique

landscape is due to an ancient volcanic

eruption that blanketed this area with

ash which then solidified into soft rock

the wind and water then shaped the

landscape into the unusual shaped

valleys pinnacles fairy chimneys and

cones thousands of years ago people took

advantage of the soft rock and carved

out homes places of worship and stables

some of the dwellings still serve as

homes and hotels to this day

here with me

yeah we don't really know how to get to

the top and there's so many little caves

to get up there but crumbles yeah and

we've been eating out of it

there's no

red Valley in the Rose Valley and cool

thing about it is that you can just walk

there's no real paths there's a couple

of little paths but they don't really

tell you where to go and you just walk

around and wherever you look you see

really cool structures and nice colors

and yeah I'd really recommend it there's

even a cafe out you've got nobody there

well the the kettle was I was on there's

no one to be saying it's a bit weird but

it's just incredible I
