last time on Kauai we left the Greek

island of Melos after exploring one of

the most beautiful coastlines we had

ever witnessed we're in search of other

picturesque Cycladic islands to explore

and show signals and perils with

consistent southerly winds

we enjoyed downwind sailing and charming

Greek villages where we've wandered the

streets with the locals being autumn the

weather is less consistent and there are

few tourists around this week we

continue our journey across the Cyclades

enroute to Turkey with very few boats

still sailing we had four Mykonos where

we get the Pick of the Anchorage's

Mykonos surprises us and we have an

amazing time checking out the sights of

this normally bustling Island dreamy

sunsets Suzhou welcoming locals and

memorable nights out make for a perfect

week in Mykonos with 20 knots blowing

from the south our plan was to head

north towards Mykonos known as the Windy

island we plan to use the protected bays

on the west of the island as shelter you

love Blue Star very same

they just do their thing and I'm really

concerned about us it's it's just that

like of all the times that we're coming

out of now yousa across to Mykonos Blue

Star is right like you know we have to

change our path yeah how dare they don't

they know that we're coming through we

should have known we should as I'm no

bellick we've seen it come through here

every morning so we should have time to

better definitely not their fault

definitely but I'm not gonna put that on

we prepared for a day of everything's

all tucked away as it should be but it's

always really difficult to predict

exactly what it's gonna be like again

look at the weather forecast looking

Navionics in the geography of the area

and to think about what you expect to

happen but sometimes it just doesn't

make sense what actually happens so I

guess the more experiencing yet the

better you are predicting or knowing

what is going to happen around land

masses in channels island it was part of

sailing

all just live in the real world and

everybody seems to sing their song I

hope one day we can see Malone but I

once we enter this channel and on the

other side of the channel we should have

a beautiful Anchorage that's what we're

predicting we're heading into the

channel between Delos and mica tops

quite a wide but you have to stay 500

meters away from Delos it is a

prohibited area for those wishing to

visit tell us there is an encourage on

the western side of the island I'm told

that you can't anchor overnight once on

the island the entrance fee is 5 euros

and another 5 for an optional personal

tour guide you can also take a ferry to

the island from Mykonos for 18 euros the

island of Delos is a mythical birthplace

of Apollo and was a major religious

centre in Port during the first

millennium BC how good I am you can

catch this big multitask ready

if we're gonna hit that spine green only

think good our van coud in a bay that

we're gonna anchor off Venice a little

bit but there's a boat there and she's

blonde and a bit of swell so we just

decided to come to this more protected

Bay and there was a bit of weed and it

shows very quickly

yeah they the boat that was in there

took the best spot and we had no real

desperation to get in there so we yank

you in most protective spot which was

here : well probably tomorrow is a bit

of a karma day so we'll probably head

into that Anchorage tomorrow morning no

we have an iconic slash different view

gorgeous so the red green zone Cyclades

sunset they are amazing exactly

it's like going down over the water

white buildings that chilled drink alive

the more you want first impressions

well I reckon spectacular I've got the

view over a little Venice and we've got

the view over the windmills nice one a

fishing boat and we'll probably cruise

we mykonos or are we more a candy

there are always so many amazing and

surprising experiences when traveling

and during the last three months in

Greece we had been fortunate to

encounter so much generosity and meet

some amazing people

Mykonos was no different and we were

pleasantly surprised when a friendly

local family shouted us a Muzo and gave

us a taste of some local cuisine making

a not even more special all right well

we're out of Mykonos

now we are off to pack offs last day in

Greece geez

next time on kawaii we leave Mykonos

early and head for the island of Patmos

where we plan to check out of Greece we

finally see some wildlife in the Med and

get a visit by sperm while we have some

unfortunate boat issues before checking

out of Greece and heading for Turkey
