sailing to DESERT Islands DESERT Islands and DRONE Fun ☕️ Support our videos: https://ko-fi.com/sailingdoubletrouble Pigotti Island was used by the Japanese in World War 2 to provide electricity to Taroa island. Today it is pretty much deserted. We explore the remains of the generator building and stumble over old bomb casings on the beach. Daisy is finally allowed to take to the skies and brings us back some beautiful shots. We cool off with some snorkelling and we enjoy the company of a hunting octopus or two.... We are Jo and Rob and we are here to share our sailing adventures with you. In 2016, inspired by the likes of ‘Delos’, ‘Sailing La Vagabonde’ and ‘Gone with The Wynns’, we sold up everything we owned and bought our 40ft, Fountaine Pajot ‘Lipari 41 Evo’ sailing catamaran ‘Double Trouble’. We had no sailing experience whatsoever, so the past few years have been a huge learning curve. We thought it might be fun to document our travels for anyone thinking of following a similar lifestyle. So far we have visited 7 different countries and sailed over 13,000 nautical miles. We have had many unique experiences that would not have been possible in our prior life and we don’t regret a second. We're both super keen on protecting our precious environment, so amongst other things, we both follow a plant based diet. You wont find any fishing footage on this channel! Subscribe now and join us as we continue our salty travels around the world. https://www.youtube.com/c/SailingDoubleTrouble?sub_confirmation=1 👏Credits: Thanks to 'Shure ' microphones for voiceover sound. 🎼Music: DT Theme tune - 'Happy' by MBB https://soundcloud.com/mbbofficial Creative Commons — Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported — CC BY-SA 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/b... here we are anchor down at piggety
piggety island pigotty island it's got
several different names on the charts
and it looks really beautiful rob's in
having a snorkel on our ranch which i
believe is over there what's occurring
it's laundry day
because our washing machine's dead isn't
it yep
it's spun its last so we're now hand
washing
which is about as much fun as poking
yourself in the air with a blonde
daffodil really isn't it yeah well we've
um
we had a lot of rain yesterday so we
actually collected this is all just rain
water so
it's free tada
pretty good right ringing out stage
yep the hand washing but it's not too
bad it's just the i missed the spin
dryer because they're
dripping wet aren't they oh they're a
little bit damp but it's a nice sunny
day i'm being an optimist
i like that
going ashore we were on the boat all day
yesterday
and let's have a fever time to get off
hard sound as well oh it is actually yes
uh
sinking a little bit side's going out
still tiger so
we should be okay there coming short to
try and fly daisy
we'll hunt here and we assume there's
nobody in it at the moment are we
assuming it's probably used by the
fishermen hey that come in
little solar panel there
yeah it looks like it let's see if we
can have a walk through the
jungle to the other side
yep see the sea
oh yes loads of plastic on the seawood
side
plastic for days on the windward side
let's see good side
i knew what i meant always flip-flops
fishing floats plastic bottles
styrofoam you name it it's all here gosh
the lots of pretty side of paradise
wow beautiful out here apart from the
plastic
just walking around and there'll be an
artillery shell on the reef
quite a few of them lying around
i mean like a casual stroll on the beach
and coming across as warm water is there
there's flight in the marshall islands
yeah we've been too close to airport
somewhere
it's a little bit windy but we'll see
how she goes
never up never down never
like a female clever
feeling high feeling low at the same
time
i feel so right that i'm
[Music]
i never wrong i always do
never thought
[Music]
stronger than i ever been
and see where the uh the rising sea
levels
just come in above the high tide line
and then just
worn away the bank and
all these palm trees have just fallen
over
this is what's left of the concrete
jetty
it's in about the same state of repair
as the one down at uh
and another looks like a fisherman's hut
here
oh just scared the chickens
[Music]
the bomb crater here and the building
through the trees over there that we
think might have been the old generator
house this large building housed
three generators and it was built on
this island for protection from the
world war ii air raids
it supplied energy to terror and the
airfields through an undersea
cable over three miles long
the area around it is scattered with
bomb craters but the main generator
survived the attacks
so this is something to do with the uh
the generator plant
stuff everywhere
it's a nice little walk on the beach
very nice little explorer of
piggety island just wending our way out
to a little chairs or trumpet
which is most convenient because it's
low tide
[Music]
having explored the island it was time
to do some snorkeling
we set off in dave and found a lovely
coral garden
with an abundance of fish and a very
curious octopus
[Music]
close your eyes
get out of your skin
[Music]
in this world of ticking clocks i hope
i'm getting true
[Music]
so close your eyes
do you feel the same
[Music]
into my
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
stop the clocks the bees
[Music]
