Our sailing adventure now takes us on from the lovely island of Kythnos to the hustle and bustle of Hydra. Forever beating a course against the elements, it’s a welcome rest on an island that boasts no motor vehicles!
Donkeys and Mules carry everything from passengers to luggage, whilst sea taxis offer a similar service, as well as trips to remote beaches (including nudist) and other hard to access places. We are lucky to be here for the Easter celebrations, and enjoy the vibrant friendly atmosphere surrounding this holiday.
Anchored in the small bay of Mandraki (no room in the harbour) it’s only a short walk into the town, and a lot quieter, but still with a great atmosphere of its own.
Sailing on to Epidavros, we hit our first serious squall, crashing into 4 metre waves and being battered with 46 knot winds and lashing rain.
I try out single handed sailing for the first time (only briefly though) and we prepare ourselves for our first ever transit through the Corinth Canal.

we're in a little bay called manned

rocky which is on the island of hydra or

missiles Edra that's cold and it's just

the most idyllic little bay beautifully

calm little restaurant here as well

which we'll walk past them there and

it's just lovely

so we're going to go for a walk over the

hill found a friend and it's Easter

Sunday today so there may be one or two

things going on in teh after go and see

the little restaurant on the harbour

it's really sweet Thursday in shorts

a beautiful day they're gorgeous only my

ensures it's good one of the little

ferry boats that takes you around Hydra

and to some of the little beach even Bay

I think that about 10 to 12 euro each

from what we've seen this is the pathway

that takes you from man Dracula round to

Hydra as you can see it's just

flower-filled quite a lot of bees around

but they don't seem to be any trouble

and they've got some beautiful beautiful

houses up on the hills it's just amazing

really really pretty right in a hurry

yesterday we we want to keep it down and

actually watching sounds like on the

beat I'm correct I believe them which

yes I drew the money we went to really

just double up around speaker to see

anywhere we look any fuel or gas because

we will in a tag at cups of coffee and

tea but we didn't find anywhere there's

nowhere and what was really strange and

we found very refreshing whether there

are no vehicles in town at all there are

no cars no scooters motorbikes no

lorries no vans nothing and the only

transport they've got there the donkey's

which was really nice but what it does

mean is that you'd have to go a long way

out of town to actually find any fuel or

gas and because it was Sunday and it was

Easter all the hardware shops just as

well went to the bakery to can get some

bread and then whanau so they're also

quite busy simcha back for Bolton at

lunch and decided to do a bit of fishing

and of course you catch any then we

decided that we got back into town and

you need sort of early evening let us

drink I wander around and they came back

really nice actually

we just took a laundry and you're

waiting for a big shock but it actually

quite a big bag of laundry it's only 20

euros feel far actually being killed the
