While exploring and snorkeling Hayman Islands' Blue Pearl Bay in the Whitsundays, the weather takes a turn for the worse, so we sail off to seek a more sheltered anchorage.
Running from the inclement weather we pull into Nara Inlet to repair a tear in our Mainsail.
In between showers we take the dinghy down the end of the bay to explore some caves previously frequented by the Aboriginal people. To us this place has an apparent spiritual vibe and you feel as if you are walking with their ancestors who lived here aeons ago.

We are an adventurous couple who live an alternative life - a life at sea. We feel better connected when we are sailing. We live simpler and have less impact on the environment.
We take the time to immerse ourselves in different cultures, meet amazing people and experience what the oceans and our planet have to offer. So come aboard and follow our adventures as we sail and explore our beautiful planet!

in our last episode we gathered a bunch
of cruising friends together and headed
out to the reef in what ended up being
the shoot harbor cruising Yacht Club
inaugural race
we're up to blue pill Bay this morning
we stayed a couple of nights and
by Bay which is one of our favorite
Anchorage's I have to say
which is awesome
and we thought we have it either but
haven't been to
in the east so we thought we might give
it a go see what it's like it might be a
bit rolling in there we shall check it
out but this
so we'll see what it's like we might get
back to Stonehaven for the night
around the corner
by about five miles of
have a slow toodle be lovely
it's gonna be the thumbs up guy
we spent some time drifting along the
tide pondering the rock formations in
the bay then popped on our gear for an
explore underwater
[Applause]
what planet are you from radio we're
ready to go nothing

just taking off from
beautiful blue pill babe on the back of
hey man what an amazing place that was
we really wanted to stay there another
day or so but unfortunately the winners
kickin in
singing not too far off of us
they won't turn into anything but
overnight so we need to get something a
little bit more sheltered
yeah but what a great place
little fish everywhere and the rate has
been bad it up a little bit
but it's come back it's coming back in
this great fish live beautiful sandy
beaches to go
really nice protected by
really long protected faith from the
east-southeast
mistake retreated and
today so it's really really lovely we'll
do
there again
do some more exploring
just coming past the
no wasted in deployment
for this weather that's going to come
through tonight
unfortunately we're having to motorcyle
under hips or because we've just lost
our mind we
taking a tear and there in the main
along the last
but a song and get that fixed up
unfortunately we've just given a sewing
machine away to some people but
nevermind
well hence solid amen
we're ordering our new sewing machine
anyway that jobs that budging that's the
way it goes
baby flora
give it when something and you need it
anyway come check this out
[Music]
oh we got a little lamb we need a little
bit of attention only a mine here son
this night it's when we pulled it up
lost time we get a little bit of a tear
in it well unfortunately we give away a
so machine but we might be able to fix
it with a bit of tape and that might
just get us through just for the minute
the else I'll repair tape it's not too
bad anyway take that take this slag off
cut this little bit of plastic off there
and make a hole paste up to get over
that and we'll wrap and pointer in the
other sort of let go around the bulb
right but that should give it plenty of
strength keep it safe again
[Music]

[Music]
what daily does it work much better if
it was flat on the deck but wrap it
around this bolt anyway it'll get us
back to a nice place where we can
[Music]
anyway you can see where the the
existing rip was a little bit of a bit
of a crease right there so we stuck a
couple of pieces of fabric long wise and
I saw it and then move on clean around
the ran the ball right to give it a
little bit of extra strength and when we
when we get a Selma shine available
we'll just give that a bit of a stitch
around the outside and it'll be good
yeah yeah also outside you just can't go
any way over there and it's just
brilliant stuff Radio so we are gonna go
on a bit of a check now there's some
Aboriginal caves up this track and we
are gonna go and have a bit of a look so
you see what we find
[Music]
check this out
beautiful what-have-you serían is parked
and obey your way up there around the
corner nicely tucked away from the swell
because the swell does rap down this Bay
and the southeaster so yeah there's a
little baby out in the round there you
can tuck away from the wind it's
beautiful that entrance which is the
entrance to the bay about 9,000 years
ago that was all our land you couldn't
actually get in here it was all part of
the mainland coastline but the ocean has
filled it up and now it's a bay amazing
you can see all cyclone Debbie's work to
magic up here oh well everywhere Wow
still looks lovely down a hold of the
trees
magical those are quite cool it's quite
significant I quite like it the little
science is pause for a moment and think
about the generations that walk here
long long ago and it's speaking from
behalf of the narrow people the ancient
people to say please ask your permission
to follow in the footsteps of their
ancestors so place your hand it's nice
yes
it's lovely over the bushland all the
ferns and the trees it's very peaceful
isn't it so what a muli means welcome
friends that's nice welcome thank you
what is now known as the Nara people
used to roam these hills and inlets
fishing and foraging for food where we
walk they traveled hundreds of years ago
and they utilized the cave systems in
this area for shelter this cultural site
is a very interesting place there are
recordings that you can listen to from
ancestors of the Nullah Unga people as
they were known before white man gave
them the name Naru
they talked of their spiritual
connection to the area to the animals
the significance and meaning of their
artwork the caves how they survived in
the area as proud and happy race of
Aboriginal people who lived off the land
and the sea I could imagine back in the
day when when the weather was terrible
the sort of ena a great little place to
ride it
yes so if you want to come and check out
this beautiful spot it's up the very end
of Nara and let in the whitsundays and
you'll see a little beach on the
right-hand side as you come down the end
of the bay it's certainly worth coming
up here for a look it's just a it's got
its own feel about this place very very
special
yeah very special very we're very lucky
I think to be allowed up here absolutely
if you're ever in our Inlet come up here
it's a beautiful beautiful spot yeah I
just love all the phones and all the
rock stretches the whole place is just a
feel good thing is that I'm not just
beautiful such a special place to be
okay so thank you so much for watching
we really hope you enjoyed that video we
had a pretty cool time at Nara Inlet and
it's just such a special beautiful place
we met this guy called Daniel who is an
Aboriginal fellow he's such a nice guy
and he actually had a really cool story
to tell he was his family from the
Solomons and they have their own
Aboriginal name I can't remember what it
was to be honest and but it's a funny
story so I his mother actually was due
to give birth and in back in those days
and the Solomons they had a special
place to go to birthing place and there
was a bit of controversy though because
the father wanted to do one more pic of
harvest and she was ready to give birth
and she really was ready to go off to
the birthing place and he said no just
wait till tomorrow and we'll do the
harvest today and then tomorrow we'll go
to the birthing place and of course that
didn't happen she gave birth where she
was and she didn't get to go off to the
birthing place so their family name
became tomorrow and it's a pretty funny
story but I can't remember what he said
his name was but it means tomorrow
so now that
so it was a pretty cool story it was a
great story so yeah I really hope you
enjoyed that episode and if you do get
too narrow in let's do go and visit the
caves they are pretty special yeah it's
fantastic it was great meeting Daniel
and enlightening a little bit of culture
yes it was just the whole thing let's
just cry yeah yeah okay so are we gonna
take off now for another day another
beautiful bay but just again to say
thanks so much please give us a thumbs
up if you enjoyed the video it really
helps us out we love to hear from you so
please do comment below and share with
your friends and colleagues and help get
our channel out there with the most
appreciative so thank you and wishing
