Trieste, 5 Oct -
"Friuli Venezia Giulia, Trieste and the Barcolana have the ability to inspire extraordinary moments and today, specifically, to bring together two excellences: the splendid Palinuro training ship, which came here to celebrate the most important institution in Europe, and the Scritporium Foroiuliense Foundation of San Daniele del Friuli, a city that hosts cultural jewels such as the Scuola Italiana Amanuensi and the Biblioteca Guarneriana".
This was said by the regional councilor for Local Autonomy and Security Pierpaolo Roberti, on board the Palinuro ship, moored at the Quarto Pier in Trieste, where the representatives of the Scriptorium Foroiuliense Foundation, led by the president Roberto Giurano, handed over to the commander of the Training Ship of the Italian Navy, the frigate captain Samuele Mondino, the Book of Honour, made by hand and with ancient techniques.
The delivery of the artefact consolidates the relationship between the Navy and the Amanuensi School of San Daniele del Friuli which in the recent past has resulted in various initiatives such as the Book of Honor for the Vespucci.
"The ability of the Barcolana in recent years - observed Roberti - is increasingly that of combining the sporting event and the party event with cultural events of the highest level which highlight the excellence of the territory".
