sometimes finally hit here like hasn't
been the best summer ever getting
something right so I said we're gonna
dance
all day long here's our old ex 25 years
old they're greedy they're ugly you know
we've taken all the hardware off and
filled so now what we do is we sand the
whole thing down and we've touched
sanded this already
after we touch sanded we skim coat it
with a faring compound just to get rid
of all the little imperfections that we
couldn't stand out after that I'll go
through and find any spider cracks or
any defects they don't want to fix like
this matter of cracking in it so I laid
an 8 ounce cloth over it with epoxy then
I'll stand and fare this in and we'll go
throughout the bullet do that any time I
took a port light out anytime we're
moving a hat so there's the same process
I took one of the windows out
that were impossible to see through they
were 25 years old so we're going with
the new polycarbonate they'll be back
here on a couple days and all let's have
to put my first one in we'll see how
that goes but for now I say I sanded I
think we have been a thousand square
feet you're on the deck and we're doing
maybe 40 feet a day so it's going to
take a little
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
you know realized in seven years that
we've owned this book it's the first
time we've been able to look out of this
light okay I'm gonna start screaming
[Music]
let's get going
all right we're just getting what we
need and not what we just want to play
he likes to hang out here
[Music]
okay oh we need one more partner they're
out right now that's right like that too
right here okay
[Music]
it's kind of nice on the weekends I get
an extra sander going with Lynn
you have to do it
so I Kim coded this deck already she's
standing it out
and we'll be taking this window out
today in a few minutes actually
doing a good job all the flutter keep
going long way to go after all these
years we're finally going to unbolt
these and get them templated for new
windows we have yes all these years
never being able to see out and it's
time
[Music]
hardware's off holding this on is
silicon but this is amazing how much it
sticks to the hall you want to take it
off as we can because we're using this
for a template for the new hole
carbonate
definitely get over here
here
no sit down right here in front of me
see this finger starts crying it like
this and then mommy's gonna do the same
thing right behind your wife you gonna I
know you're walking across just give a
little pry without breaking it
oh okay damn jump down here I need your
help hold this right here
[Music]
there we go I'm holding my wind down
that crazy what do you think
[Music]
what are you doing now and we've gotta
get it off anyway so there you go it's
like a no the can of worms but you know
what you're you're you're it's it's a
good thing I couldn't get to it because
this thing is in the way in class you
know what I noticed this is not um
Philips it's a slot that you know as all
these yes have you know sighs switch
bits every other time when I'm taking
about that's why it takes me so long to
keep up with you I know okay we'll keep
going I'll catch up to you reel it in
seems a bearing compound not gonna lay
a Taos clock over this entire run
and we're doing this because I want to
give this a water catch so as rainwater
hits the upper deck it'll hit this and
run down
that collection device at the end
both sides of both okay so contenders
run it's a tough one attack them down
with a poxy first rolled out about five
pumps
I'm trying to saturate it
get this to lay down
I did this on the cloud cover day just
have a little more working time
yeah let's do a little fly over this and
see it looks like
okay so what I'll do now is let this
fire off I'll sand it smooth share it
and blend it into the decks and then
we'll fare the upper deck here like we
did your lower fire scenario and start
prepping for Bank okay today is day 1 on
painting the deck
I've only crapped 6% of the dish so I've
gone through
now I've glossed over any areas that
needed glass work and I've fared and
fill the skin coated the entire deck so
now I will prime and paint the Cobell
here I've layered over glass over here
now this is all built in and swept into
the decks so this will create a rain
catch when we're when we hit the tropics
so let's get going on this so here we go
getting ready to put the final coach on
this section of the boat here just about
8% of the deck space I've got it all
prepped and sanded I will Prime and
paint today I did this same section on
the other side of the boat yesterday
walked over here and this whole sections
done
pretty bright but that's what we're
going forward it'll take one more coat
and then one more top coat with a
non-skid compound and then we'll be done
then off to the rest of the deck quite a
bit more to do up here but we'll get
there new white bags feel good
how dare to you'll be able to walk with
shoes but they're getting there so now
so I'm taking this old jet look at this
stuff just pretty nasty
these aircraft paint mixed with real
sand it's been brutal sanding this down
so what I never do is I sand it down as
much as I can and then I skim coat it
with a lightweight steering compound
then we re sand that prime and paint and
get this it's not perfect but it's it's
close enough to make me happy beautiful
day here like Union
I've got a nice breeze is supposed to be
about 80 to 85 degrees so I'm faring
early in the morning so I could sand in
the heat the fearing compound kicks so
fast in the Sun so do it by you pesto
don't you doing well when it's 85
degrees out
you fear in the early morning
late at night so you do when you can
when you can
that's right so awesome okay oh my god
it's such a really and it's not kicking
in like ten seconds like German - no it
looks like it's getting close though
[Music]
[Music]
my parent compound this whole floor day
now I am taking off cleats removing old
hatches everything's painted below so
getting these old 24 year old hatch down
pat tricky and here's a break anyway
these are sleeping
put fetus hatches and so excited get rid
of these little plastic well they did
their purpose you see all three pairs
over the years pieces are broken what
we're gonna do it right
[Music]
