welcome back to svbasic guys

it is such a beautiful morning

when we pulled in we went right into

richardson bay

and anchored there for the first 72

hours

so we are just settled in

anchorage in richardson bay gosh it just

feels like

not that long ago that teal and i were

here with our first boat

but this is the first time in a very

long time that we

are back in a city environment

doesn't feel that much different i'm

just so

happy that the smoke and the haze

has lifted and we can breathe

but it's just you know it's just taking

it all in it's just a new adventure

sounds like there's a concert up on

shore i would love to go and see what

they're doing but

you know we had just a long day

and we just want to get just relaxed

and kind of take it all in it's kind of

like

we've come full circle with emma here

and um yeah it's just been

it'll be fun we didn't realize that

there was

a timeline on where we were anchored and

there's not very many places

uh to anchor here but it was

just a nice couple days there we did

decide to go into marina for

a night or two just to go pick up some

supplies drop

off garbage refill our water tanks

we have a couple more things to do

before we head towards angel island

tomorrow morning and one of that

is to fill our propane tank it's kind of

funny i never thought it would be an

issue but apparently it is there's not

very many places

along the bay that will fill it so

somebody told us that um we just had to

go a little bit further in

and we can actually go by boat so we

took our dinghy it's high tide right now

and then there's this little estuary

that snakes through

and right alongside it is a little trail

so teal

went over and he's getting our tanks

filled

and emma and i are just kind of hanging

out it's kind of neat because it's like

this little

oasis in the middle of the city yeah you

don't really realize it but this is just

gorgeous and it's calm and there's

nobody here

so we just have our little paradise yep

it's really cool

and then we headed out again we're here

just off of belvedere

here and on the other side

is sausalito and we had a

viewer actually secure us a mooring ball

off of the corinthian yacht club so that

we can go and explore angel islands so

thiel is just kind of checking our

systems

we're going to pull up the anchor and

then we're going to head over there

now that is on the other side of

belvedere

and literally it's like two miles away

so i'm really excited this is going to

be an awesome day

the sun is shining the fog is lifting

and we're starting to get a view yes and

we have an amazing view

look at this golden gate bridge this is

peeking out through the fog

views of downtown the bay bridge you can

see alcatraz

treasure island angel island from here

it's just amazing

rolling up our hard top huh

every day you mentioned it every day

because every day i wake up and there's

no hard talk

it's coming you keep saying that it's

coming

he's such a tease i mean literally he

keeps saying it's coming

it better

what this works

okay it's not real elegant

it works for now

what a muddy mess i think uh wash down

pumps in our future

so there's a change of plans we pulled

in

in front of the corinthian yacht club

and

it was blowing pretty good so we're on a

lee shore

didn't seem like it was a smart thing to

do to

tie up to a mooring ball there it'll be

a bumpy night yeah it would be a pretty

bumpy night so we decided that we're

going to sail into

san popo bay and explore in there it's

going to be a great day sale though

because the wind is just perfect it's

just

nice and brisk and we'll be able to sail

the entire way

so here's our home for the night

it's a quiet little anchorage

you know we planned on going uh

grabbing that anchor ball right off of

tiburon but it was this

was a little too choppy and boy the wind

just funnels

right there between angel island and

that

point of belvedere and the sea state was

just a

a bit lumpy so we decided to hook it

around the corner here

i'm glad we did everything just laid

right down we were able to sail

all the way here and it was a nice

little sail

it's only a couple miles but we gotta

enjoy a nice leisurely evening with a

wonderful meal

lynn made fried chicken wings

and mashed potatoes it was just amazing

so we're gonna settle in for the night

and

see what tomorrow has to offer kind of

like this here

maybe we'll stay a day we don't know

we'll figure it out tomorrow

picked up a camera and pointed in her

face that's what i do

okay well it's been a nice place yeah

actually i've really

enjoyed it here you know we've been here

two nights

and we can either do another one or take

off and there's probably time

i say let's go i mean you know me

i know i kind of been so beautiful i

mean this is just calm and

serene and beautiful views and hardly

anybody anchored here

i know i mean i like couple boats here

and there but it's not like over in

sausalito where you're fighting

for a spot with 200 other boats exactly

but you know what i've really enjoyed it

the sun's been out the smog and the fog

have

not really affected us at all i know i'm

surprised that not very

many people are here i know our solar's

been just going crazy we're putting out

1.5 to 1.6 kilowatts a day

which is perfect for us that that uh

means we could just uh

live indefinitely off the grid at that

point indefinitely

right here in paradise cove emma

yep are you ready to go yes so are we

just waiting for the ties to turn then

yeah we have about i don't know 10 15

minutes

i mean why fight the tides we're only

going six miles

six miles big day big day so

we'll head under the bridge and find an

anchorage over by

uh china camp i think a couple of

anchorages over there we'll

check that area out i hope the wind

picks up so we can do a little sailing i

think it will it has every afternoon so

i'm hopeful emma

yeah you ready to head out for sure

let's start i'm just starting one engine

so funny thing about me is

i have the worst fear of bridges

especially double deckers this is the

richmond sam raphael bridge and it's a

double decker

this freaks me out like you wouldn't

even believe i would never

want to drive on this thing and if i do

i would have to be on top there's

something about being on the bottom that

creeps me out i think that it's going to

collapse on me

so any chance we get teo will try to

avoid it for me

but it is a pretty cool bridge to look

at

i think that teal is in the dog house

again because

every morning i make an effort to come

out

and wipe down all the dew on the decks

to make it nice and clean

well every single time teal pulls up the

anchor

he leaves his mark not in a good way

i have to say that he leaves what i can

only describe

as a but skid

all over the decks look at this muddy

mess

and every single time

he swears that he's going to put a wash

down pump

up here so then he can clean up his mess

hasn't happened yet

hey what are you doing about

i'm gonna have to do some more work

it's colin never fails

he has his priorities

okay we dropped the hook in china camp

looks like a cute little place we'll uh

head to shore tomorrow and explore

the wind's just starting to pick up you

know we had a nice breeze all morning

but it was light now it's uh it's

building

it's making the anchorage a little bumpy

right now that's only because the

the tide is flowing in and the wind is

coming out

and so everybody in here is doing the

little dance

keeps you sideways to the fetch and

makes it a little bit uh uncomfortable

but as soon as the tide changes

about three more hours we'll have the

tide in our face

and the wind interface and it'll just

lay right down and we'll have a nice

quiet evening

so the wind's picked up in the last i'd

have to say

i don't know half hour 45 minutes

and everybody seems to be doing well we

have about eight boats in the anchor

with the exception of one it looks like

he is dragging anchor

and teal is um kind of

setting up because it looks like he's

dragging right into us

i don't think that he's going to because

he looks like he's aware of it right now

but i don't know

to be on fenders right here

well i'm gonna do what i can to get

ready for this guy to hit us

just watch carefully we're gonna put on

some fenders casey comes real close

this guy's drifted already a half a mile

it's like they handled it

boy that could have got ugly quick but

i'm glad they uh had a grip of it

looks like crisis averted i don't know

if they're leaving the anchorage or

heading home i don't know but all is
