We get weather-bound for a few days in the Isle of Man, so Gaynor goes off in search of the local seafood whilst Beverley keeps an eye on the weather. Eventually, we learn the hazards of tying up to fishing boats (obvious in retrospect, but there you are......)

okay so this is low water appeal this is
peel harbour entrance well as one major
problem with rafting up to a fishing
boat it's cold three o'clock in the
morning when they want okay that's the
moon rising over the top of that
building and it's pretty much a fooling
and it's just magical we are having so
much fun we've got seals we got birds we
got gannets things like that
the fear store smells rather distinctly
a fish we're hoping that's just the
harbor and not the Isle of Man but oh I
don't know we can see him or not it's
quite dark but there he is
our friend has returned
[Music]
as you can see it's choppy even in sight
the outer harbor and that Harbor wall is
where we premiered last night between
those fishing boats I don't really think
I'd want to be married there today it's
blowing an absolute hurry see the flag
some things I can that's meant to get a
lot worse worse Gaynor is entertaining
herself at the moment she's in that Welk
stop interviewing the owner and asking
about Queenie's and Wilkes things so
these are fresh Queenie's when with eat
my lunch in a minute we're just hooking
that with a little bit of how many
minutes do Queenie's mate take to cook
food two minutes no more than two
minutes two and a half to two and a half
minutes so Weaver and these are quite
good
Oh gotta use real Manx butter
none of these half-ass so go big oil and
now we're adding the butter only about
the shells on the reach they get dumped
in my own behalf down and you get why
should wash it off with the other side
right I say so where all those shells
come from making it from these eggs from
the Queenie's I'm having Queenie's for
lunch Bev it's just two minutes to two
two and a half minutes really scallops
that's my little collection of Queenie's
you're having peepers aren't you
how you doing a cold day did he cook
them in anything ready just it was just
oil and Mike's water one you know that
I'm not a thing for eating what looks
like sheeps testicles get the house
they've actually lit this fire to start
the chimney tomorrow so he's lit the
fire because it takes a day to just keep
get the place all warmed up so bought
some smoked bacon and I've bought some
more of the kippers so I'm going to cook
something with the kippers in it later
but for now we're going to use the
traditionally smoked bacon to make my
lunch so I'm doing as I'm making boat
toast and because I don't have a grill
all I've done is I've put the butter in
and now I'm going to put the bread in
it's very simple but after Tahlia the
Queenie's cooked with that tiny bit of
bacon has made it absolutely scrumptious
thomas and the harbor master was telling
me that a little bit of garlic along
with the smoked bacon would be good but
soon as i wanted a bit of bread with it
from a lunch I've just gone for the
smoked bacon and the Queenie's
where there was a lot better the next
day and it was very calm in the marina
so we figured that we could probably
leave he went to have a look over the
seawall and check the conditions like to
see and it didn't take us very long to
realize we were going to be spending
another day appeal it was clear that the
sea was still very agitated from the
storms and Geils of the previous couple
of days and it's going to take a while
longer to counter okay so this is low
water appeal this is peel harbour
entrance I think we need a bit of water
too so the new plan is this week alight
as soon as we can't high tide tonight we
grab one of these mirroring boys and
then we stay on them to low tide which
is like it is now and then we go right
around the corner and we hopefully catch
the south going tide plans plans and
crazy plans our plan was to go on some
more in balls over there but it was just
far too crazy for that so we're
currently drafted on to a very small so
here we are
and Paul currently drafted and we have
got every single fender on then we have
our lines here at the front this is our
line and it's going all the way over I
can't even see it anyway there's a
fishing boat over there somewhere
yeah I know it's difficult to see I've
and I can't see it it's that so our
lines are going to the fishing boat
on this tiny little craft his right
between us
okay somewhere down there there is a
mooring ball because we've got some more
ah well there's one major problem with
rafting up to a fishing boat it's cold
three o'clock in the morning when they
want to kick so we've got to go back to
the mooring balls which we tried to get
last night but at least now the sea
state has improved considerably so
whereas before we were in absolutely
horrendous roll I just said that I can't
sleep in this this is just no way it was
just too bad you know at least now it's
calmed down the sea states calm down so
we're actually back on the more involved
that but yeah three o'clock in the
morning they decided they wanted to go
so we just had to move the boat so we're
on the mooring ball it's a low tide
sunrise appeal
we're getting ready to go off run the
tip the eyelet man
today's see it's considerably flatter
than what we've seen recently so we're
very grateful
