well hi everyone here we are again on
the foredeck this week we've done a fair
bit in the engine room we'll look at the
engine room in a bit progress there it's
been good
we've done another couple of things I'm
not sure if you've seen yet ever look
they're hazel the whole fuller through
partners for the forward mast that's
been cut in position they're obviously
cut in the right position and the
bowsprit on the front if you scan around
again those the bowsprit is fixed in
position good combo ah yeah the bowsprit
that took a bit of fabrication there
when you see it you'll see there are two
stainless sides there ten millimeter
thick ten centimetres wide stainless
side pieces underneath then there's a
piece of the same material welded across
ways and in that underneath piece I
drilled two holes and tapped threads
into them so I could put some stainless
bolts welded in stainless studs in there
sticking out and there will be a piece
that attaches there and runs down the
bow that still to be made but I've made
a start it's not finished with where the
barrel was going to fit I've changed my
original plan and I've now put a 40
millimeter stainless bolt through at the
front and I still need to machine the
bronze sleeve that goes on that to take
the roller and their cheek pieces the
spirits in position it's fixed it's
glued
bolted it's there

you
and that reminds me I was gonna mention
this carrier was using this this 1/2
inch ratchet to tighten up the bolts on
the bowsprit there and remind me it's a
king craft I'm not sure if the make
still exist but I bought this is the
first ratchet I ever bought and I was
probably 14 or something when I bought
this ratchet and fairly soon after I
bought it this piece that you used for
changing the direction of the ratchet
fell off and I made this piece at school
in myth will work at school and and
silver soldered it on and it's been on
there ever since
which is quite a while but point being
this is a brilliant ratchet apart from
that back piece falling off which was
easily mended I've had that ever since
I've used it a lot it's the only half
interaction I've got so all 1/2
interaction thing I've ever done in my
life I've done with this ratchet it's a
brilliant wretched and I've got 2 or 3
snap-on ratchets no more I've got
several slip on ratchets and you know
this fetch it this kink rafter actually
I never service it I never take it apart
oil it clean it it's it's just been
brilliant for quite a long time what a
great tool not very expensive and yeah
that's all by the buyer isn't it the
engine room is the other thing we've
done and in there where to the stage now
we're ready to fit the engine which is
which is really quite exciting I'll
please develop in the engine room this
week the first thing I did was go to the
sand so we've done the fiberglass and we
took any any sharp edges off any callers
you know sanded up

and then a coat of clear epoxy over that
just to seal it all one more time and
then it's been painting in there so I've
given it two coats of epoxy primer to
seal it and then I've just today just
done the second coat that builds paint
on the floor the sides are only partly
but I did but the floor and the engine
bed it all painted well you'll see that
in a bit
looking good so I said we're at a stage
now where we can get the engine put in
tomorrow I also fitted the engine
adapter plate adapter plates to the end
your bed so they're on and you remember
I still need to make up a couple of
brackets they come from those adapter
plates down to bolt through the floors
just to give it all that final beefing
up but it's looking good look sealed it
looks great I'm very happy with that and
I say we'll get the engine in tomorrow
that would be a great step forward
progress indeed as usual yes but getting
on
