well however back in the Boatshed back
to regular boat building getting on well
I think and something quite amazing this
week it is episode 100 and who would
ever a thought we get to 100 episodes of
the SVT patio build almost all of them
have been about the boat build and safe
we're back to it now so carrying on 100
episodes
perhaps deserves a celebration don't
know what we'll do
and yeah what's been going on this reel
SS more important thing and the first
thing I did this week was I put I went
round the rubbing strike or the rub and
stroke basis you might remember and I
put six centimeter
number eight bronze screws throw in
various places every meter or so in them
and then at the scarfs so there's the
screw just show you that screw is that
focused carry on yeah and I thought I'd
give you a sort of a bit there at all
tip on this one if you watch other
channels you'll have seen other people
using this very tall I think lose the
ship right and leo from from Tallyho
sampson both used the same tool for
putting bronze cruising brawn the screws
as you may know a fairly tricky to get
in they have quite a resistance to them
so the first thing i did was was i
drilled a small hole and then i ran a
stainless steel screw in and out of the
hole a couple of times took that out
then i counterbored to the size of the
shank and countersunk

grease the screw put it in there and
weld it in with this puppy there's a
brace with a screwdriver bit in the end
and they go in lovely with a brace
because you can you can you can get a
good pressure on it and keep it straight
and wide in and you've got a good good
leverage here as well like they you know
they grown a bit as they go in but
they're going really nice for the brace
it's a great tool for putting bronze
cruising and ice a couple other
challenges the same tauter I highly
recommend a brace for bronze screws I
picked this one up in there you know
auto jumbo here in Germany a few years
ago not very expensive if you see them
well worth having Tony's taught it a
brace for bronze screws
you

you
yeah so this week the other thing I've
done really all the big concentration
has been on the old dog house here the
for carrying dog else and as you say
it's leading a bit of paint but almost
complete a lot of works been going on on
this it's two layers of ten mil ply
laminated together you saw I think the
last stage in the video was that we have
one layer on so the second layer has
gone on they're laminated on I've
rounded up all the corners so there are
no sharp edges and gone round all the
outside with a filler of epoxy around
here filled anyway anything that needed
filling

and then I went round with a 6-inch
glass
tape around all the outsides and these
corners so I say fileted and taped all
around where it joins in there
you remember that the this one the front
sits into the deck the sides set into
that bulkhead so it's well located and
with the filler and the glass tape I
think it's pretty solid
then when the tape was on I then blast
the panels so it's completely glass all
over the next job was to cut the hole
out for the hatch and then make up this
plinth it's the plinth is two layers of
12 millimeter ply 1/2 inch ply cut the
shape laminated together glued on

then it was goes around around the
plinth with a filler of epoxy and
glassing it says it's properly sealed
and finally I got to get the hatch in
that she's obviously putting miss
embedding compound screws but @fj on the
screws to hopefully stop them binding
the aluminium to the stainless binding
and there she is looking great same
hatches the one in the main deck there
and the raised deck sort of match nice
bit of air into the boat bit of light
into the four cabin
